Duomo, Milan Italy

Posted in Uncategorized on October 30, 2009 by andialu

I’ve been digging through old pictures and working some of them up. Here’s one I took on a trip I took with my granda to Italy. My friend and I walked up the stairs to get to the top of Duomo while my Grandma and my friends family shopped in the stores in the area. Grandma ended up drinking me under the table that night!

Irving Penn @ The Getty Center

J. Paul Getty

Meg and I went to see an exhibit featuring the work of Irving Penn at the Getty Center on Sunday. His work was really inspiring. The number of works they had on display was impressive alone. I really enjoyed his simple yet effective lighting.

The exhibit featured workers in their work outfits and any equipment they used set against a simple gray backdrop. It was interesting to see how different his platinum/palladium prints were different from his silver gelatin prints. I would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in portraiture or traditional print making.

Nikon D200/Tamron SP 24-135mm/RAW

I pumped up the contrast and saturation to give it more pop.

It’s a shot of Meg and myself looking into a puddle on a long hike up a river in Zion National Park.

I hope you enjoy your stay here at my blog and website (http://www.pqpqpqpq.com) I plan on adding new photographs to both as often as possible.

I’m a photographer from the south bay in california interested in both digital and film photography. I shoot with a Nikon D200 for my digital and a Hasselblad 500 for my film camera. For those interested I’ll be talking about the process and software I use to get the final shot.
